AI Games

Jalwa Win is video games that use artificial intelligence to augment or create gameplay elements. For example, an AI may be used to improve physics in a game or create more realistic NPCs with non-scripted dialogue and body gestures. The AI may also be used to optimize game balancing based on player performance.

Historically, game developers have been wary of using nondeterministic AI because it can make the game unpredictable, but advances in game AI are making this less and less of an issue. AI can now be made to perform more sophisticated tasks than was previously possible, and shorter development cycles are allowing developers to experiment with new AI technologies and learn from their results.

AI in Cross-Cultural Game Design

One of the most significant uses of AI in gaming is in the form of enemy and NPC behavior. For example, Monolith Productions’ F.E.A.R. (First Encounter Assault Recon) is a popular first-person shooter that features a paranormal threat and well-implemented AI enemies that frequently flank players and take cover to avoid getting killed. In BioShock: Infinite, an advanced AI powers Booker Dewitt’s companion Elizabeth, and her humanlike behavior is a hallmark of the game.

Increasingly, video game AI is being used to create immersive, narrative experiences. For example, the upcoming Horizon Zero Dawn is a sci-fi action-adventure that uses a sophisticated emotional AI to make NPCs appear more believable and engage with players in more meaningful ways. The game is set in a futuristic world and allows players to explore a vast, open environment with intelligent characters and exciting storylines.
